Meet The Team

Kara Pound

Owner and Founder

Born and raised in Connecticut, Kara moved to St. Augustine, Florida in 2004 to attend Flagler College where she graduated with a B.A. in communications focused in print journalism. After working for more than a decade as a professional writer, Kara took a Director of Communications position at St. Augustine Distillery where she fell in love with marketing and public relations. Needing more flexibility in her work-life balance, Kara left the distillery to start her own public relations firm. Old City Public Relations was established in the summer of 2017 and has been growing with lighting speed since taking root in the Nation’s Oldest City.

Gabby Ervin

Content Manager

North Florida native, Gabby found her voice by writing stories close to her heart. As a graduate of Flagler College in 2018, Gabby studied media with a background in advertising and creative writing. Gabby’s professional writing first began close to home, where she interned with a local magazine, St. Augustine Social. There, she learned to approach various topics in-depth, helping to strengthen her content creation. Gabby is passionate about creating engaging content for clients and is always looking to tell their story in a unique way. When she’s not working on a new piece, you can find her sipping on a coffee, playing with her pup, or traveling to somewhere new.
