17 King American Bistro Celebrates Grand Opening May 1
ST. AUGUSTINE, Florida (April 19, 2026) – 17 King American Bistro is celebrating its Grand Opening on Friday, May 1, with a first look at its new menu and atmosphere. Previously operating under The Harvest Restaurant, 17 King American Bistro will be a full-service restaurant focused on the seamless marriage of food, wine, music, and ambiance. The new concept comes from the same minds that created La Casa Studios and is an exciting addition to The Plaza Experience, a hub for all things arts and culture in St. Augustine.
“Our goal with 17 King American Bistro is to create an immersive and memorable dining experience,” says Gary McGeddy, owner of 17 King American Bistro. “We have this gorgeous wine library that’s a centerpiece of the space. It was natural for our wine program to be one of the main pillars of the concept. We’re rounding it out with a curated menu that stands on its own but also complements our wine offerings, an extensive cocktail menu, and a full performance schedule featuring live musicians.”
The dining experience at 17 King American Bistro is designed to be polished yet approachable. McGeddy tapped Chef Landry Wyatt to create a new, elevated menu. Chef Landry began cooking at 16 in his native Gainesville and is a graduate of the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts. Chef Landry’s menu is a curated collection of engaging, thoughtful flavors, including Tempura Asparagus, Grilled Shrimp Polenta, Pan-Seared Crispy ½ Chicken, and Duck Pappardelle. In addition to the restaurant’s extensive wine library, a full bar serves up an inventive cocktail menu, as well as a selection of domestic and international beers. The space also has a small wine tasting table, where diners can purchase a bottle of their favorite wine to take home with them. Live music is an integral part of the new concept, with a full schedule of daily performers, including local favorites Jim Johnston, Alex Peramas, and Shyla Macaluso. 17 King will also offer bespoke event packages with unique upgrades through its sister property, La Casa Studios, part of The Plaza Experience.
17 King American Bistro will host a Grand Opening on Friday, May 1, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The event will feature live music beginning at 3 p.m. and continuing through the evening, with a different artist performing every 90 minutes, curated food and wine tastings, and giveaways. It will be the first opportunity for the community to experience 17 King American Bistro’s updated brand and direction. The full menu will be available for enjoying.
