Clays for a Cause Returns for 13th Year, Surpassing $2 Million in Total Donations
ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Florida (December 5, 2025) – The 13th Annual Clays for a Cause event, presented by MasterCraft Builder Group, was held on Thursday, December 4th at Saltwaters Shooting Club in St. Augustine. The event brought together members of the local construction community and the general public for a day of clay shooting and fundraising for area nonprofits. The largest to date, this year’s Clays for a Cause raised $427,073 for 16 Northeast Florida charities: Alpha-Omega Miracle Home, Seamark Ranch, St. Augustine Youth Services (SAYS), Builders Care, Make-A-Wish® Central and Northern Florida, Rethreaded, Villages of Hope, HorsePlay Therapy Center, Jimmy Jam Community Outreach, St. Johns County Police Athletic League (PAL), Inheritance of Hope, Pie in the Sky Community Alliance, Kids Safe Zone, Children’s Home Society, The Women’s Refuge of St. Johns County, and Top Shots – bringing the 13-year total to a staggering $2,279,000.
“I’m excited, over the moon excited, to present 16 checks today, for a total of $427,073,” said a smiling Chris Shee, Founder of MasterCraft Builder Group, as he addressed attendees. “One of the ways we’re able to donate as much as we do is we put our own skin in the game. I have been very blessed to have sold my company last December to an amazing company, Perry Homes. In the past, MasterCraft always paid for everything this event entails, so that when y’all give us a check, that check, 100% of it, goes to the cause. And I’m so thankful that Perry Homes family said, ‘We love what you’re doing.’ They stepped up and covered all of the event’s costs, so we can continue giving away everything we raise.”
Clays for a Cause hit a huge milestone this year, surpassing the $2 million mark. In the event’s 13-year history, it has raised $2,279,00 million for over 40 charities throughout Northeast Florida. A new recipient organization this year is Pie in the Sky Community Alliance, which delivers fresh, healthy, and nutritious produce and other donated food items to the homes of low-income seniors throughout St. Johns County. When Shee heard about the organization’s work, he visited its warehouse to see it in action, and immediately knew he wanted to help.
“We started our Senior Program in February of 2016, with 12 individuals – we’re now up to 850 seniors and counting. Our services are needed now more than ever,” says Malea Guiriba, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Pie in the Sky, which was presented with a $10,000 check at the event. “This will help with our greatest needs: shelf-stable foodstuffs, such as soup, milk, and protein drinks. And if there’s a senior in your life who is struggling with food insecurity, please have them reach out to us.”
