Jefe’s Fish Wagon Announces Opening Date of August 22nd
ST. AUGUSTINE, Florida (August 13, 2025)–For Chef Genie and Jeff McNally, travel and food are deeply intertwined. As they visited areas like the Lowcountry of South Carolina and the coastal beaches of Puerto Rico, they found themselves drawn to seafood shacks, fish camps, and beach kiosks serving no-frills, impossibly fresh seafood. These delicious experiences inspired their newest concept, Jefe’s Fish Wagon. Opening Friday, August 22nd, the food truck will live at Hornski's Brewing Co., located at 100 Anastasia Boulevard in St. Augustine, just south of the Bridge of Lions.
“Genie and I have always connected with people who love and live for good, simple, fresh-from-the-source food,” says co-owner Jeff McNally. “On our breaks away from The Floridian, we always look for those places where the locals come to eat and just chill. We wanted to create a place where we could let the ingredients speak and capture that laid-back, vacation atmosphere. And it’s situated at a super-cool, local brewery. What more could you want?”
Jefe's Fish Wagon is all about creating simple and fresh meals that guests can completely customize. Diners pick their choice of protein, from the daily fresh catch and tuna to shrimp and expertly prepared tofu. Next comes the setup, including burritos, plates, sandwiches, and salads. Entrees come with one of Jefe’s signature sides: classic Hoppin’ John, a Lil’ Salad, or Hurricane Fries, with crispy, hand-cut French fries smothered in chippy sauce, chimichurri, and house-made datil-carrot hot sauce. Other offerings include “Chips And:” served up with plump Pickled Pepper Shrimp, featuring local shrimp brined with lemon, poblano and bell peppers, and sweet onions; The Poisson Cru, a tropical take on ceviche, with sweet coconut milk and zippy lime; or vegans can get in the game with Beet Poke, made with citrus-cured beets, ponzu, sesame honey, and furikake.
Jefe’s Fish Wagon can be found at Hornski's Brewing Company. This super-chill, ultra-local brewery is the ultimate family-friendly spot to hang out. They brew everything from crisp lagers and light Hefeweizens to juicy sours and hazy IPAs, as well as featuring guest draughts of beer, kombucha, and cider, wine, cans, and non-alcoholic options. The staff creates epic playlists by spinning from their vinyl collection throughout the day, and guests can enjoy playing old-school arcade games and pool. Located at 100 Anastasia Boulevard, it is oh-so-conveniently located across the street from the McNallys’ other new concept, Bea's Fine Foods + All Day Café.
