St. Augustine Jeweler, Dan Neff, Announces Retirement After 30 Years

ST. AUGUSTINE, Florida (September 9, 2025) – From custom engagement rings and watch repairs to one-of-a-kind precious metal and gemstone designs, Neff Jewelers has spent three decades as the preeminent jeweler of the Oldest City – offering unique, high-quality craftsmanship. Owner and Goldsmith Dan Neff has decided to retire after 30 years at the bench. Neff Jewelers, located at 7 Rohde Avenue in St. Augustine, will be offering:

·      Starting Tuesday, September 16th – all jewelry inventory will be 25% off

·      Starting Tuesday, October 14th – all jewelry inventory will be 40% off

·      Starting Tuesday, November 18th – all jewelry inventory will be 50% off

·      Starting Tuesday, December 16th – all jewelry inventory will be 60% off

Established in 1995 by husband-and-wife team Dan and Jan Neff, Neff Jewelers purchased their current location in St. Augustine in 2011. The restored turn-of-the-century home, circa 1890, was built by Henry Rohde as one of his model homes and later became the residence of the Moeller Family, who owned a bakery across the street. The Neffs plan on selling the historic property at the beginning of 2026.

“My wife, Jan, was the brains and vision behind Neff Jewelers,” Dan says. “She retired five years ago and has been patiently waiting for me to do the same. At 65 years old, I would like to spend more time with Jan and travel. I’d also like to pursue some other creative endeavors like drawing and painting.”

Dan, who has a degree in Metals from the University of Illinois, and Jan, who is a GIA Graduate Gemologist through the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), grew a loyal following over the years for their custom designs such as 18k Gold pendant replicas of the Castillo de San Marcos, engagement rings encompassing new stones and family heirlooms, and ocean-inspired, free-form pieces reminiscent of the couple’s time living in St. Thomas. Neff Jewelers also became a favorite stop for art-lovers with a rotating collection of pieces from artist Teri Tompkins and Jan Neff.

“What I’ll miss the most is seeing the terrific people that we’ve come to know over the years, whether it be clients who come in on a regular basis or those who join us for Uptown Saturday Nights,” Dan says. “But I’m excited for what’s to come.”
