Save The Date For The 4th Annual Southeast Coil Classic on April 27

ST. AUGUSTINE, Florida (March 11, 2026) – The 4th Annual Southeast Coil Classic returns to Marsh Creek Country Club on Monday, April 27. This charity golf tournament is a heartfelt initiative led by Vested Metals President and Founder Viv Helwig. Service to others is a core value deeply embedded in Vested Metals’ culture—Vested Metals’ first core value is “People Are Forever.” Helwig and his team aim to donate $1 million to local charities by 2033. The inaugural charity golf tournament was held in 2023, and to date, The Vested Community Foundation, Inc., the charitable arm of Vested Metals, has already raised more than $200,000.

“This tournament was inspired by our dear friend and colleague, John Mark Leach,” says Viv Helwig, President and Founder of Vested Metals, a specialty metals and steel supplier with locations in St. Augustine, Florida and Fort Wayne, Indiana.

“I don’t know anyone who had a more giving spirit or compassionate heart. When we lost him in 2022 to cancer, we knew we needed to honor him by creating a way to show how he cared for others. That’s why we give 100% of the proceeds from sponsorships, ticket sales, and additional donations to local non-profits that work to help the next generation and their families.”

Last year’s tournament raised more than $75,000 for local charities. The beneficiaries for this year’s Southeast Coil Classic are: K9s for Warriors, West Augustine Youth Development, Safe Families for Children, Adaptive Superstars, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Flagler College Athletic Scholarships. The Southeast Coil Classic always features special touches that echo some of John Mark Leach’s favorite things.

“As we do each year, we’ll incorporate some of John Mark’s favorite things,” shares Helwig, “like ice cream sandwiches delivered halfway through the golfers’ round and a ginger ale toast during the reception.”

The 4th Annual Vested Metals Charity Golf Tournament will take place Monday, April 27, at Marsh Creek Country Club, 169 Marshside Dr, St. Augustine, FL 32080. The event will kick off at 12:30 p.m. with a shotgun start. The 18-hole, four-person scramble features the chance to win a car with a "Hole-in-One," a Longest Drive contest, and complimentary on-course snacks and beverages. At 5:30 p.m., there will be a post-event reception to announce winners, present contest prizes, and recognize this year’s beneficiaries. Tickets can be purchased online at www.vestedmetals.net/golf. Donations are welcome for those who cannot attend. Vested Metals is currently looking for sponsors for this year’s charity tournament, with opportunities ranging from a single ticket to packages for 2-4 players.
